Warning sirens

Reminder: Outdoor emergency warning sirens are tested the first Saturday of each month from March through September at noon. If there is a threat of severe weather on that day, the test will be cancelled. The sirens are activated by Washtenaw County in an emergency for the following: 1) Significant severe weather (tornado warning or thunder storm with winds over 70 MPH); 2) A hazardous materials release in the area; 3) A major national security incident.

In the case of an emergency, you should monitor the Emergency Alert System broadcasters: WEMU – 89.1 fm; WWWW – 102.9 fm; WQKL 107.1 fm; WTKA 1050 am; or WLBY 1290 am.
